The Offspring: Days Go By

Released: June 26, 2012

This is a band I have grown up with and am proud to say has maintained themselves as a great punk rock band. While many bands from the 90’s tended to slip off into different genre’s or just dropped off the face of the earth The Offspring has continued to rock. The songs on this album are up tempo, fun, and reminiscent of albums such as Smash and Americana with an experimental song or two thrown in the mix. They even included a re-recorded version of “Dirty Magic” from the 1992 album “Ignition; the new version has a sharper sound while holding true to the original feel. The one song on the album that I’m not to fond of is the poppy sounding song “Cruising California (Bumpin’ In My Trunk)” which doesn’t sound like the band we love. Other than that this album is great! Let’s hope the band leaves that style to this one song in the future.

Score: 8.7
