The Cranberries: No Need to Argue (1994)

  • No Need to Argue was the second album released by Irish, Alternative rock band The Cranberries.
  • The album leaned a little more into the bands rock sound than on their debut.
  • Lead singer, Dolores O’Connor demonstrated progression in her vocal talent on this album.
  • The album was a commercial success in terms of sales.
  • The album produced two of the bands biggest hits that are regularly featured in greatest hits of not only the 90’s but, all time in Ode to My Family and Zombie.
  • You can definitely hear the influence of bands such as The Smiths, Duran Duran, The Cure, Joy Division and that realm of rock throughout the entire listen with hints of sounds you might hear from the likes of Smashing Pumpkins at the time. I feel like Zombie is a great culmination of this range.
  • This is a great album with a handful of iconic tracks.
  1. Ode to My Family
  2. I Can’t Be with You
  3. Twenty One
  4. Zombie
  5. Empty
  6. Everything I Said
